“It was so hard to imagine telling the children, with your help, it made the situation manageable”
~ Parent of a New Hope program participant
Delaware Hospice’s New Hope Program is a nationally recognized program where counselors assist children and adolescents ages 6-17 with the many emotions associated with the loss of a loved one.
Help comes in many forms—listening, empathizing, acknowledging feelings and giving comforting support.
We offer one-to-one counseling, group support, workshops, therapeutic activities, ongoing communications, and a four-day summer camp where the children get to know peers who are in the same situation.
The New Hope Program is supervised by an experienced counseling staff and provided without charge.
Camp New Hope is a special offering in the New Hope Program, held for four days during the summer in each county in Delaware. Camp New Hope is designed to create a safe and fun environment for children and adolescents to come together with others who have experienced a loss so that they know they are not alone.
