Delaware Hospice Festival of Trees Committee seeks donated items for auctions

Delaware Hospice’s Festival of Trees Committee for Sussex County is currently accepting donations of items for auction at the 2007 Festival of Trees, to be held from Nov. 30 to Dec 2, at the Georgetown Delaware Technical and Community College.

Each year, the Festival of Trees features a brilliant display of artisan-decorated trees and wreaths, sponsored by local businesses and individuals.

Donated items, decorated trees and wreaths are auctioned at Festival events held throughout the weekend.  The 2007 Festival of Trees celebrates its 20th year anniversary and features a Friday night Gala with both a silent and live auction, as well as Saturday afternoon’s “Delaware Hospice Holiday & Collectibles Auction,” which is free to the public.

Your contributions of auction items will be greatly appreciated.  Examples of donations include, but are not limited to:  arts, crafts, Christmas décor, gift baskets, quilts, and other new or “almost new” paraphernalia.  Decorated trees and wreaths may also be sponsored or donated for the auctions.

As the only non-profit, community-based hospice in the state, Delaware Hospice depends upon fundraisers such as the Festival of Trees to support its programs, services, and rigorous standards of quality care.

The Festival of Trees Committee works throughout the year preparing for this wonderful and worthwhile charity event, and it’s never too early to show your support.  The value of your donated items is tax deductible as a charitable contribution.  To make a donation, please call Amie Rapoza at 302-856-7717, or stop by the Georgetown office at 20167 Office Circle on DuPont Highway.
