DELAWARE HOSPICE CELEBRATES NATIONAL HOSPICE MONTH

CARING SUPPORT WHEN YOU NEED IT MOST

Wilmington, DE – November 1, 2005.  In celebration of National Hospice month and as the leading providing of hospice care throughout the state, Delaware Hospice encourages you to plan for the care you would want to receive and to share your wishes with family members and your healthcare provider.  One way to do this is by completing an advance directive, also known as a living will.  Just as important, however, is talking about your wishes with family, friends, and healthcare professionals.  These are important steps to make sure your wishes are honored should you face a serious or life-limiting illness.

Delaware Hospice is committed to informing the community and local healthcare providers about the benefits of hospice and palliative (comfort) care, and the importance of advance care planning.  “National Hospice Month provides a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of the options of care available, “ commented Susan D.
