STONEY’S PUB RAISES $6,476 FOR DELAWARE HOSPICE

Delaware Hospice President and C.E.O. Susan Lloyd receives a check from Stoney’s Pub Owner, Mike Stone, representing the proceeds from a month of fundraising activities held in celebration of Stoney Pub’s 7th anniversary.

Stoney’s British Pub on Concord Pike in Wilmington celebrated its 7th anniversary this year as one of the most unique and popular night spots in town.  For the 7th year, Stoney’s celebrated its anniversary with a month of fundraising events to benefit Delaware Hospice in honor of a loved one who received hospice services.  This year’s events raised a record-breaking $6,476 for the not-for-profit Delaware Hospice.

Fundraising activities included a swear jar, the sale of half and half tickets, and Guy Fawkes Night (preceded by “Penny for the Guy” night where customers were given a chance to throw darts at Guy Fawkes).  Entertainment throughout the month featured Paul Lewis; Tomato Can’s teenage guitar sensation, Pat Kane; Erich Mace; a “Comedython;” and the Feast of St. Andrew complete with haggis piped into the dining room.  An auction of local goods and services was hosted by Michael Waite of WJBR 99.5.

Delaware Hospice gratefully acknowledges the contribution and generosity of Mike Stone and his co-workers.  The organization relies on community support to continue to provide its trademark high quality care and special programs to patients and families throughout the state of Delaware.
