Share the Gift
There are so many ways to share the gift of your time:
- Patient/Family Support: Offer a listening ear, read to patients, share stories, run errands if needed, or most importantly just sit and hold a patient’s hand.
- Vigil: Offer additional support and comfort to patients and families during the patient’s final hours, helping to bring a sense of peace and love into this last life experience.
- Bereavement: Support bereaved family members by keeping in touch with them through phone calls, notes and cards.
- New Hope: Participate in workshops and programs, such as our four-day Summer Camp New Hope Program, which combines individual and group counseling with games, crafts and outdoor activities for children who have lost a loved one.
- Office Support: Assist with daily office operations, such as updating medical records, entering data into the computer and helping with our mailings.
- Transitions: Provide companionship and support to those who are coping with a serious illness but are not yet ready for hospice care.
- Community Education: Provide vital information regarding Delaware Hospice services through community-based education and presentations to organizations.
- Special Events: Assist with fundraising events that we hold throughout the year including our Annual Jazz Brunch, Festival of Trees, Mimi’s Walk/Run, Casino Night, and our Annual Golf Outing.
